The Knockout Renovation Process

Our process of renovation has been honed and perfected over the last 26 years that we have been in business helping to achieve beautiful and better functioning homes via residential renovations in New York City and Western Brooklyn. We specialize in bathrooms, kitchens and full apartment and house interior renovations.

We are an all in one source for your renovation needs. We follow the following process:

2. Shopping Phase
3. Renovation
4. White Glove Clean Up
5. Warranty

Design Consultation

We begin with a free design consultation with a full review of the scope and size of your project and also a presentation about the work we have done and what our strengths are around the full process, such as having a Project Manager / Designer run the project and handle all of the pieces (find out more about our use of project management along with design work here ) and also interfacing with the co-op and condo requirements for work, informing your neighbors about the upcoming work and more (if you decide to move ahead with our design).

We know from experience all of the ins and outs of renovating Western Brooklyn and NYC houses/apartments/coops/condos. We ONLY do residential space, so we have expert level status on these types of projects. We specialize in home interiors, full apartment renovation and/or bathrooms and/or kitchens. You can choose what you would like to have done and we work together to create the perfect living space for your needs.

We provide a conceptual design and work scope review for you and your project. At that point, we go over everything in detail and provide the itemized, detailed work scope and initial design. After your approval, we have a kick off meeting with the team, including our designer/project manager (find out more about one of our project manager/designers here) We complete our measurements and confirm the design, work scope details.

Shopping Phase

Once you decide to move ahead with our design, we go shopping with you to get the pieces needed. You and our designer/project manager pick all of your materials from tiles to appliances. Once everything is picked, we place the orders and schedule the deliveries with both the vendors and the apartment location to make sure everyone is aware and ready for delivery.

Renovation Begins

Once the products are ready for delivery and we get final approval from your building management and, if needed, the NYC Department of Buildings, we begin to work. We manage every piece of your work from design to implementation including protecting your space from the work and coordinating with building staff, neighbors, all phases of the work and more.

White Glove Cleanup

Once the work is done, we have a white glove clean up service come in and scrub everything to shining status. Anytime you have work done in your home, you want to make sure the work is cleaned up professionally. Many construction teams do the work and then leave you with the mess. Not us, we come in with a professional cleaning service that makes your home sparkle and shine.

Warranty Period

As discussed in a previous post, we are one of the only renovation firms that offer a 7 year warranty on our work and products (read more about our warranty program here).
