Knockout Renovation Advantage

Experience Matters – How You Should Pick Your Contractor

Your home is your refuge, it is where you go to relax and kick back after your time spent outside the home. It is a place you welcome friends and family. This is not the someplace that you want to invite ANYONE into to do work and renovation. You must have a level of trust with the people you invite into your home to make it into the home you want and need. This is a big reason why you need to shop around to find the contractor and company that is right for you. You do not want to be dealing with a fly by night operation or someone who does construction in their part time or someone who is not recognized by the Better Business Bureau, even if it is your third cousin twice removed.

When you commit to making those big or small improvements to your home, whether it be a complete apartment renovation or a bathroom and kitchen remodel, you need to have an organization that you can trust to come in and make these changes.

When you commit to making those big or small improvements to your home, whether it be a complete apartment renovation or a bathroom and kitchen remodel, you need to have an organization that you can trust to come in and make these changes. You want to be able to rest easy knowing that your home is being respected and cared for, that timelines are being met and followed and that the employees in and around your construction site have all been vetted by the contractor.

My Contractor Checklist You Need to use to Pick Your Contractor

Knockout Renovation, owned by me, is a small business that has been around for over 25 years and I personally vouch for every job. We are an actual store front, as well, meaning that we are in it and here for the long haul. We have steady employees from designers to the craftspeople who are all involved and invested in each project as if it were their own.

When you begin the process of getting quotes, once you have decided to finally make your home over into the dream home you deserve, think about the organization you are contracting with and make sure of the following:

  1. The design team includes someone who is skilled at project management and will be the point person for you throughout the process.
  2. The construction team is part of the firm and managed by the on site point person.
  3. There is a plan to either pay in installments on certain work milestones so that you can be sure the timing of the renovation is managed appropriately.
  4. There is a warranty on work (we provide a 7 year warranty and you can learn more about that here → Why We Offer a 7 Year Warranty .
  5. The company is a real storefront with roots in the community.
  6. There is a portfolio of real work with positive reviews available.
  7. Every detail must be in writing.

While looking through that checklist, I can guarantee that Knockout Renovation fits the bill on all of them.
